Founded in Turin by Carlo Abarth in 1949, the scorpion badge became synonymous with turning humble Fiats into pocket-rocket giant killers on road and track. After Fiat absorbed the tuning firm in 1971, the name lived on in hot versions of models like the 131 rally car before being revived in 2007 as Fiat's in-house performance brand. It remains active, best known for the fierce 500-based hatchbacks.
